PNRR – Mission 5, Component 2, Investment/Sub-investment 2.1 “Urban Regeneration” – funding granted by the Ministry of the Interior for the projects “San Lorenzo si rigenera” – “Redevelopment and functional upgrading of the San Lorenzo building complex and the Church of Sant’Ansano. Unit 2: Former Oratory of the Crocetta.”
Introduction
The project involves the redevelopment of the former Oratory of the Crocetta, part of the San Lorenzo complex in Pistoia, to adapt it for its new use as a museum.
Technical details
- Conservative restoration with the integration of exhibition and conference spaces
- Degradation mapping and surveys carried out using laser scanning technology
- Modern systems: heat pump, fan coils, and DALI lighting
- Localized structural reinforcements and complete roof replacement
- Full accessibility ensured through elevator installation and accessible pathways
- Project compliant with CAM and DNSH principles: use of recycled materials, water-saving measures, and energy efficiency
Results
The complex will be fully accessible, energy-efficient, and reintegrated into the urban fabric, strengthening both cultural identity and environmental sustainability.
