The Project

Diagnostic investigations and Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of the existing; Technical-economic feasibility study, final and executive design, safety coordination during the design phase and construction supervision of structural, building and plant works for the demolition and simultaneous reconstruction of the “House of Health” in Chiaravalle Centrale (CZ).

Introduction

The project concerns the seismic vulnerability assessment and technical-economic feasibility study for the demolition and reconstruction of the “House of Health” in Chiaravalle Centrale (CZ). The main purpose is to ensure a modern and safe health facility, adapted to local needs and complying with seismic and fire safety regulations.

Technical details

  • Diagnostic testing was carried out, and 56 concrete core samples were extracted to assess material strength.
  • The investigation revealed a high seismic vulnerability of the main building, due to weak frame systems and low-quality construction materials. Consequently, demolition and complete reconstruction were deemed necessary. The new facility will feature reinforced concrete frames and glulam timber roofing, incorporating advanced insulation technologies and energy-efficient building systems.
  • The remaining existing structures will be renovated and repurposed for specific functions, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
  • An energy management system will be implemented, including photovoltaic panels and heat pump systems, to promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Acoustic barriers and soundproofing measures will be integrated to ensure a high level of environmental comfort.

Results

The project will ensure an efficient, safe and sustainable health presidium, improving seismic resilience and quality of health service for the local community.
